Anxiety is defintiely an unpleasant experience to say the least.  Are you in counseling for your anxiety right now?   For me, individual or group therapy helped me confront and learn about my health anxiety...a little knowledge about why we are thinking the way we do can go a very long way in dealing with it, in my opinion.

I would have to agree that people will and do react to different types of medications.  What might be right for one, might not be the choice for the next person.  You did the right thing by going to get checked out by your doctor to rule out cardiac causes.  In my experience, anxiety can and will raise our pulse rate even when we are not in a state of panic especially if we are constantly checking it or we are aware of it.  As with any new medication, I always suggest just keeping an open dialougue between you and your prescribing doctor...keep us posted!

Many people have had great results with Cymbalta, but we all respond differently to these types of medications.  I think you should make your prescribing doctor aware of the spiking blood pressure and go from there.  Take care.
