hello all
i just wanted to share to get some support. i moved from ny to florida a bit over a year ago was diagnosed with chronic migraine. this past sept i was also dignosed with dep/anxiety and i am on 40 mg celexa and 05 mg klonopin a day. i decided i want to move back to ny cause fla is not for me i am partners in a hair salon and i want and need to go back to work. i have way too much time on my hands in fla and i booked y flight for feb 28th. the closer i get to the date the more increase in anxiety i feel. i just needed support and feedback. i know anxiety could play tricks on us and i also was thinkin of taken another 05 klonopin on the rough days. i was prescribed 05 klonopin up to 3x's a day but only take 05 in the am. look forward to feedback and support
thanks

Hey there, you're right anxiety can play tricks on us. It's awful how that works. I'm currently going through a relapse of anxiety myself and man has it been playing tricks on me. I'm sure that moving again is a trigger for most people, but at least you're moving back home. Think about when you get to anxious. You'll be going back to where you feel safe and where you know alot of people. I've been where you are, I had to travel round trip on a greyhound on two seperate occasions. Each trip was 12 hours long. And as the dates more my trips would get near I would get more and more nervous. It's almost painful. But I did it, and I'm sure you will too. What i've learned through my ordeal with anxiety is that people can do things that they never thought was possible cause of anxiety. I didn't think I could travel, and I did. I didn't think that I could go through a job interview, and I just came back from one. And you may feel as the 28th gets closer that maybe you can't go through with it, but you can, and you will.

And not only will you feel better when you move back, but you will also be back in ny with more confidence in yourself because you managed you go through with the relocation. View this trip as a mental exercise that will only make you stronger. And remember that it might be uncomfortable for you but the saying goes, "no pain, no gain" So after your trip I know you will be alot more stronger.

best of luck, and keep me updated. messege me =]

Welcome!  Glad you came here and shared with us!  Anxiety can really take a toll on us, and it sounds like it is for you!  I don't know if you've ever had anxiety issues before this, but it isn't uncommon for anxiety to manifest after pretty significant life changes..whether good or bad..ie, birth of child, marriage, divorce, RELOCATING.  Get my drift?  You have a lot of changes you're dealing with, so having some anxiety isn't uncommon.

Your worry about your upcoming move is understandable, and what you're likely experiencing is a hefty degree of "anticipatory anxiety", where basically we worry ourselves sick about an upcoming event/task.  Usually that AA gets a little worse the closer the event gets.

If I were you, I would get in and discuss all of this with your doc to see what kind of options you have to deal with the increased anxiety, including on travel day...which may be rough...or hopefully, you may get a sense of relief once you're on your way!

Best of luck...do let us know how you're feeling!
