Hi there! I will write from my own experience so this will be biased but I'm sure there are other points of view worth looking into. I tend to self talk all of the time. I talk outloud as well. This helps me to solve an issue or problem and as a motivation tool. Hearing about the issue or problem seems to help me focus better. I would like to add that I have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2012. I am not on any medication as of now but feel that I may need to go back and have a talk with the doctor. The reason for this is because I've been having more racing thoughts and am unable to concentrate on things. It is making me feel discomfort and am unable to sleep at times. There are more factors but self talk can be a good thing at times.

Self talk can be a good thing, if what you're saying is positive and affirming. Don't belittle yourself ("I'm no good, nobody likes me," etc). And did you know there are certain types of songs that are more likely to get stuck in your head than others? There's one in particular but I'll spare you having it stuck in your cranium all day. :-)
