Hey girl, it's me Kara. Hope you and Cam had a wonderful anniversary. I thought about you too and prayed for you. I know how stressful health issues can be on a marriage.
I'm so sorry to hear that you are still having problems. I just knew you were all fixed up after the kideny stone issue.
My situation was lupus. Right now we don't know if the lupus is causing the hydronephrosis. But I'm doing better on Plaquinel. I am confessing and thanking God every single day that HE has healed me. I just won't accept anything else.
Write me and let me know how you are doing and what the dr. said. One of the test that confirmed the lupus dx was the ANA. It was real high. It also looks like I had Rocky Mountain Spotted Tick.
Praying for you my sister!
It sounds like you could have a condition called sacroiliitis. Sacroiliitis is a condition when the joint between your sacrum (lower portion of the spine) and the illiac bone (the hip bone) becomes inflamed for one reason or another. I have this condition and it is extremely painful. It started 9 months ago and I had to stop working as a nurse because of the pain. All the doctors I saw thought it was a back injury from work. Finally after 8 months of suffering, I was out of my mind with pain so my GP sent me to a pain management specialist and he knew immediately, without even doing Xrays, knew what was wrong with me. He diagnosed me with sacroiliitis and did some injections of steroids and anesthetic into the joint. For about five days after each injection, I felt pretty darn good, but it eventually went away. Anyway, now I take Ultram, Mobic, Oxycodone and Soma for pain and muscle spasms. My spine is now twisted to try to keep it from completely seperating from the illium. The chiro really helps. I also use TENS, ice and heat (I know that they say not to use heat with inflammation but it relaxes my spasmed muscles in my back). Unfortunately in the last week, I have developed severe joint pain in my knees, elbows, feet, ankles, toes and hands. I also have severe swelling in both my legs and arms (can't wear my jewelry or watch). I went to my GP and she did some blood work, CRP is 8.1. I go to see a rheumatologist for the first time tomorrow and I am very scared. I am pretty convinced that I have Rheumatoid Arthritis. It is very prominent in my family. I have 3 aunts and a cousin with it. I hope that if I do have it, I am catching it early and that it is not resistant to treatment. RA is a pretty treatable disease these days!
I am sorry about your pain as well..........I went through the exact same thing before I started drinking a juice that my friend recommended to me. It helped soooo much with my back pain and fatigue........I can actually function now. I hope to tell others about it so they can try it too. Let me know if you are interested........some folks just have to take pills and listen to doctors, others will try other things. After years with back pain I finally saw a doctor when it was so bad that I couldn't function.........they of course gave me a drug that had awful side effects and so I just decided I would have to live with the pain. Until I found this juice and it has helped so much and given me energy. Anyway, if you are interested e-mail me of send me a message here.
Whatever you do.......do something,
You got it in one....see your health professionals and put a name to the symptoms...that may be the start to a better quality of life. We'll all be hoping for you...let us know how you get on and take care.
Thanks guys for your responses. I set up an appointment to see a rheumatologist on Sept. 16th. Its seems like an eternity away, but hopefully I can get some answers. I will suggest an MRI. Someone else had just mentioned that to me yesterday, so it seems like the popular choice. I'm sorry that both of you are also experiencing pain...I know how you feel! Its depressing, really, to go on for years with chronic pain with hardly any relief. My overall quality of life is pretty bad because I have a hard time doing even simple tasks. Hopefully now I can atleast put a name to the symptoms.
I will keep both of you in my prayers. Thanks for all of your help!
Sorry you're experiencing so much pain. My feeling is you have some problem with the lumbar spine or lower. Have you tried to get an MRI or other? Sometimes different scans can provide more information. I was advised (by an idiot doctor) to get x-rays on my neck a few years ago. I asked would an MRI not be better?....he insisted on the 'rays'. After 6 (yes 6) 'carcinogenic' x-rays....nothing showed up. Need I tell you that when I had an MRI....it proved what I had suspected all along....I had the beginnings of osteoarthritis.
Don't settle for less than you think will inform you....look after yourself properly....and in my experience, most people instinctively know if they're receiving best practice. You've suffered too long not to know exactly what's wrong...and you're very young....which is the right time to try and sort it out. If you can.... get an MRI...or anything else you can to put an end to your question....then you can begin to help relieve the problem. Good luck and keep in touch.
Hi there, I am so sorry you are having all this pain. You need to be seen by a rheumatologist. They can check and see if you have rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, ankylosing spondylitis, etc. I have arthritis in my spine and I get pain similar to yours and I take a bunch of medication but it doesn't take the pain completely away. I feel for ya, Sweetie.
Sorry it has taken so long for a response. I'm sure others here will chime in but I wanted to welcome you to the forum. Feel free to msg me anytime.
