Savella

Has anyone been prescribed Savella for their pain?  My doctor says I have a Connective Tissue DIsorder (but unable to pinpoint which one, specifically).  Was wondering if anyone has ever trioed this medication and if so how did it work out for you?
Thanks.

Savella has really helped me with parathesia pain.  I was contiually getting zaps of pain that felt like bees were stinging me.

After I got three weeks into the titration pack that pain stopped.  I think I have only had that pain on three times since and it was very mild.

Hope it helps,
Karen

Hi there:)   I just spent three weeks trying very hard to get my body acclimated to Savella because I didn't think that Lyrica was helping.  I'd start a titration pack.....get to the 50 mg. oval tablets, and break them in half and sometimes into quarters.  I'm convinced that the effect Savella has on norepinephrine was why I couldn't take it.I would get so incredibly anxious and nervous......I don't think that my body needs any boost to my norepinephrine.  What I can tell you with certainty is that I realize now that the Lyrica helps more than I realized.  Once I started taking it again after I gave up on the Savella, I noticed that I did feel better.  Not good - I can't remember what "good" feels like - but better with the Lyrica.

Wishing you best of luck.....

Peace,

Sue

Sorry Lelia,
I answered you Nov 13 post and hadn't seen this. In that post I metioned Savella. I haven't tried it but since I didn't do well with Lyrica and Methotrexate, I aske my Rheumy about this and he said he would not prescribe it to me because it messes with your blood pressure, so he put me on Cellcept for all my mix connective tissue disease. Cellcept seems to be better than anything I have tried. You should try all the meds your docotrs want because it does take alot of trials to find the correct cocktails. Even tho we are in the same boat, what might work for one, does not work for another and its all trial and error and alot of patience. Are you any where near retirement? This disease takes alot out of us unless your one of the lucky ones and has a mild case. But there are many factors that can cause us to "Flare" I had to leave work.
