MY DR RECENTLY TOOK BLOOD TEST TO CHECK FOR RHEUMATOID MARKERS.  WHEN IT CAME BACK THESE WERE THE RESULTS; ANA-POS, ANA TITER1:320, ANA PATTERN-HOMOGENE, RA INTERP-NEG, RA TITER-1:1, C-REAC INTERP-POS, C-REACT TITER 1:1, WBC 10.8, RBC 3.98, HGB 11.1, HCT 32.7, MCV 82.1, MCH 28.0, MCHC 34.1, RDW 14.6, PLATELET 542, MPV 7.2, SR WESTERGREN 28, URIC ACID 6.2, MISC CHEM MISC Z, CHEM MISC NAME Z ANTI CCP F.  IS THIS INDICATING RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS OR DOES THIS SEEM TO INDICATE SOMETHING ELSE IS GOING ON?  ALSO IS THIS SOMETHING OF MAJOR CONCERN?

I’ve made a few comments next to each test that I have info on. PLEASE – keep in mind, I’m not a doctor – I can only give you info on the individual result. Your doctor will be the one who is able to piece all the info together and make a diagnosis.

- I've already given what info I have on these first two - ANA-POS, ANA TITER1:320, ana titer <1:80
ANA PATTERN-HOMOGENE,
RA INTERP-NEG, RA TITER-1:1, ra titer<1:1

C-REAC INTERP-POS, C-REACT TITER 1:1, c react  titer <1:1 – Inflammation Marker, not diagnostic
WBC 10.8, wbc 4.8-10.8 – still within normal limits
RBC 3.98, rbc 4.20-5.40 – little low – anemia could be a cause
HGB 11.1, hgb 12.0-16.0 – little low – anemia can also cause this
HCT 32.7, hct 36.0-48.0 - little low – anemia can also cause this
MCV 82.1, mcv 83.0-96.0 – little low – again points to anemia
MCH 28.0, mch 28.0-32.0 – low end of normal
MCHC 34.1, mchc 32.0-36.0 - normal
RDW 14.6, rdw 11.5-14.5 – just barely over – another indication to anemia
PLATELET 542, platelet 140-400 – slightly elevated – could be nothing though. High altitudes, strenuous excersise and being post-partum could be a cause.
MPV 7.2, mpv 7.4-10.4 – not sure on how values are assessed here but MPV gives your doctor information about platelet production in your bone marrow
SR WESTERGREN 28, sr westergren 0-20 – just slightly elevated – used as a marker for inflammation – mild elevations could also indicate anemia
URIC ACID 6.2, - don’t know ranges – used to check for gout
MISC CHEM MISC Z, CHEM MISC NAME Z ANTI CCP F. – don’t know anything about this one

TSH 0.308 (0.450-4.500), - there are new normal values for TSH that some labs still are not recognizing – those values are 0.3 to 3.0 – yours falls into the normal range based on the new guidelines.

- TRIGLCERIDES 184 (0-149), -.C-REACTIVE PROTEIN, CARDIAC 8.27 (0.0-3.0), C-REACTIVE PROTEIN, QUANT 8.4 (0.0-4.9).  
These can all be indicators of High Cholesterol – which could also be the cause of some of your other values being high/low. AGAIN – only your doctor can be the one to interpret these results as a whole. It does look as if he is being very thorough in investigating what is going on with you.

Please post once you visit your doctor again. I’m curious to know what he says and on how you are feeling!

ALSO THESE ARE FROM A PREVIOUS TEST ABOUT 2 WEEKS TO A MONTH BEFORE THAT WERE FLAGGED; TRIGLCERIDES 184 (0-149), C-REACTIVE PROTEIN, CARDIAC 8.27 (0.0-3.0), TSH 0.308 (0.450-4.500), C-REACTIVE PROTEIN, QUANT 8.4 (0.0-4.9).  PLEASE ADVISE.

I'm not a doctor, but have researched a lot. Here is my inturpretation on your results. A positive ANA with homogeneous pattern can indicate lupus, but not everyone with an elevated ANA will have it. From what I've read - a high Titer w/homogeneous pattern  indicates lupus, a low titer other rhuehmatic diseases, but the labs are used in correlation with other tests and a physical exam to reach a diagnosis. The labs alone only give your doctor a direction to look/test further. It would be much more helpful if you listed the reference ranges from the lab that tested your blood. I have no way of knowing from your post if your ranges are within normal ranges or not. Each lab uses a different value scale. ESR Westergren and C-Reactive Protein is generally used to test for inflammation. Your RA interpretation was negative, which should mean it's not RA but again, I'm no doctor.
