Thank you so much for your reply, I have just been to my GP to have my stitches out and asked their opinion. They just said it would take time :) I feel a lot better now but still only doing stairs one at a time. I'm no longer worried as I have done some research on the internet and found that it can take 3-5 months for recovery so its all down to patience. Thank you again for taking the time to answer me.

That I'm not sure of but like with any ortho surgery there is a recovery period that includes some rehab. Since your appointment is a ways off yet I would call in and leave a message with the nurse who can check with the doctor. If they don't think it sounds normal I'm sure they will move your appointment up.

thank you for your kind advice and such a speedy reply! do you know if full or partial movement is expected after resection or does it depend on the size and place of the resection? I never got to see the doctor after the op so will only get these questions answered in 6 week appointment so its a long time to wait. Thank you again for your help :)

Maybe you were a little more active then you have been recently or you have some inflammation causing the pain. Have you tried NSAIDs to see if they help? You might watch it for a few days and see how it goes. Also you may benefit from swimming or physical therapy to help. Good Luck!
