Pregnancy pains

I am currently 15 weeks pregnant and having a lot of sharp pain in my pelvic area everytime I walk.
My doctor won't be in until Monday. Is this something I need to go to the hospital for. Or something normal that happens ... This is my second pregnancy as well.

Thanks for using the forum.

What you are describing sounds like it may be round ligament pain. The round ligaments help attach the uterus to the pelvis. As the uterus grows, these ligaments stretch. This is often felt as a sharp pain on one or both sides of the pelvis. It is most commonly felt when rolling over in bed, sneezing, standing up from a chair, sitting up from lying down, and walking around. The pain should not be ongoing, it should just last a few seconds. This is considered a "normal" pain of pregnancy. It is not harmful to the baby.

I do recommend to everyone that they speak with their doctor if they are experiencing a new pain, or cramping, or bleeding with pregnancy. It is always the best policy to make sure that there is nothing else going on.

I hope this helps. Congratulations on your pregnancy!

I'm 12 weeks and today I've been having really sharp pains in my abdomen.  They're much more painful than the little cramps I've felt before... its this normal?  I haven't seen any spotting or abnormal discharge, but I'm still worried...
