bright red bleeding 12 days before period

So on april 5th i started my period and it ended on the 11th... a total of 7 days . my periods are very regular they come every 27 days  for 5 days like clock work they have been that way for 1 and a half years the 7 days was a very unusual thing and yesterday the 21st i started bleeding ( 12 days before my expected period) it started like just spotting very lightly for like 3 hours then it started getting getting heavier throughout the day to the point where i was filling a pad every 1 and a half hours. today its going on i started using a tampon( should i be using a tampon )  bc its been getting heavier and i also have cramping in my lower abdomen like right below my public line  normally my cramps are all in my back  i know that its too early to test but what possible reasons are there? i have been searching online for possible things and all i can find is implantation bleeding but it really doesn't describe what I'm  feeling ... we have been trying to have a baby for a year now and we would be delighted if this was a sign but i dont know what is going on and its freaking me out ... i never had this happen with my first pregnancy 7 yrs ago

Thanks for using the forum.

If you are bleeding that heavily, I doubt that you are pregnant. There are early result pregnancy tests, but they are most accurate 1 week after the first day of your missed period. It is possible that your period is early. Changes in diet, stress, weight, are among the many things that can cause hormone fluctuation and make a period temporarily  irregular.

I hope this helps.
