first ultrasound found 3 sacs.

I have three healthy children and I just found out I was pregnant three weeks ago with a hpt. Today I had my first ultrasound and there was three sacs all empty. The tech told me I could just be earlier along then they thought. I've never had a miscarriage before. They say not to worry but is this normal?

I would agree with the recommendations from the technician where you received the ultrasound. The gestational sac typically appears during the 4th and 5th weeks of pregnancy. There are many factors that go into getting an accurate result from an ultrasound, and you and your doctor may want to schedule a second ultrasound in the next couple weeks to verify the results.

Another ultrasound has been scheduled for two weeks. Until then I guess I wait patiently or try to. Thank you.
