Symptoms but negative on test results

I am 23 years old in the Marine Corps. I was EXTREMELY active for years. A year ago during deployment I started having a hard time breathing if I was doing any kind of activity. I can ride a bike at a reasonable pace or jog slightly faster than a walk but anything above that I feel my chest tightening and feel like im about to pass out. I have had every test possible for asthma and they all say negative. I've also had a heart echo and a stress echo both of which showed nothing wrong. Im currently on advair, singular, and flonase and with them I dont ever have these symptoms unless im doing any heavy activity. My doctors dont have a clue. My last visit I was told that I was hyperventilating. But why was I able to do everything the first two years in the Marine Corps? Did I just forget how to breath? I know there is something wrong, but I am at a loss as is my doctor. Has anyone else experienced this? Any insight would be helpful, Josh

Sounds like it might be Hyperventilation Syndrome which often occurs at your age and the first signs are often with exercise. There is information and help here http://www.breathingwise.com/chronichyperventilation.html

i have moderate asthma have had symptoms everyday for the last 3 yrs. i'm on 5 different meds including breathing treatments 3x a day and 10mg prednisone. my doctor is baffled becuase none of my tests indicated very severe asthma...everything was in the normal range. listen to your body and go by symptoms and control it as best as you can my asthma started out just like yours , trouble breathing with any strenuous activity cough and chest tightness- trust me , it's asthma
