Did you know that high levels of estrogen in the womb is linked to autism?

Recent research has proven one risk for our children to have Autism and that is high levels of estrogen in the womb.  For a very long time, the cause has been widely unknown and that this factors in is an important development in autism research. Prior studies had already implicated higher uterine concentrations of male sex hormones -- androgens -- in increasing the odds and now researchers and doctors have more information to better understand autism. At this time, research is being used to better understand autism rather than prevent it.

What are your thoughts on this?  Would you want to know your hormone levels during pregnancy to help predict autism in your child?

The idea that autism is caused by extra pre-natal testosterone in the womb, or even for estrogen, it's pseudoscience, was later disproven, and there is no scientific evidence for it. Such myths came from Simon Baron-Cohen which were unfortunately taken at face value due to his credentials and high status.

Do you think this would cause older moms to have a higher incidence of having an autistic child? I was 43 and my son is HF.
