could this be autism

i have a 2 year old son that is constantly hitting other people.sometimes out of anger but most of the time for no reason.he also puts toys above his head and throws them at people.he thinks this is funny.even though he goes in the time out chair or gets yelled at he does not seem to care.he will also do things like turn the tv off in the middle of a show, but before he does this he will look back at you to get your negative reaction.then he'll turn it off and run.his daycare is concerned with this and so are we.
could he be autistic?he was a little behind with his talking and walking, but does well with both now for his age.he just doesnt seem to show any remorse for his actions.

                                                                                                                    thank you,

what your saying about autistic behavior is not the case with all autistic children...there are many different behaviors that do not effect all kids the same way...there are also different severities for being on the ASD  that range from very mild, to mild, to moderate to severe.  She (steimy) really needs to get him evaluated  to know for sure...he could have PDDNOS or aspergers even and very mild  at that, my son is diagnosed PDD NOS mild to moderate and he loves to be hugged and he has no problem with being touched, he doesnt scream, he loves other children and loves to play with children...STEIMY if daycare has a concern you might want to take him to a developmental pediatrician or  a pediatric neurologist to get him evaluated then you will  know for sure, it could be some form of autism or maybe not, maybe something else but at least you will know for sure...do a search on PDD NOS see if any of that information can help you out in the mean time.  good luck!

Sounds completely like normal 2 year old behavior.  All my children also turned the t.v. off and on while we were watching (it's fun for them).  Throwing toys, hitting, and pushing down the stairs is all normal behavior.  2-year-olds act on impulse and do not think about "what will happen if I do this".  Autistic behavior is not wanting to be touched, screaming when someone touches them, rocking, playing alone, not wanting any other child interaction, not wanting adult interaction, being in their own little world.  We have relatives with autism.
