I was diagnosed with raised antiphospholipid antibodies after I developed severe HELLP syndrome with my first pregnancy. Baby was okay at 34 weeks, but I had a really tough recovery. Son is now 8 yrs old. I have never been the same...many autoimmune oddities now. Second pregnancy was followed by a maternal fetal medicine specialist who watched my blood panels like a hawk. They took the baby when my liver enzymes began to climb at 38 weeks. Baby fine, now almost 6 yrs. Had heparin injections for 8 weeks after having the baby. Could NOT have done it without the maternal fetal medicine specialist...he is the guy who is used to seeing all the odd and strange symptoms. I would suggest you try to find one. It made all the difference for me.
i've had three losses with 2 antiphospholipid antibodies--they haven't diagnosed me with APS though because my antibodies are more unusual ones and not in the official criteria. heparin is supposed to be the gold-standard treatment: theoretically it mediates the immune response and prevents something called "complement" from activating in addition to preventing clots. i wish you the best.
