Auto-immune?

HI there,
I am prone to respiratory infections, and take advil almost daily to manage muscle aches.  I am 34, and twice over the last 7 years, for a period of months, I have had joint stiffness, fatigue and tingling extremities.  Currently I do not have the fatigue, stiffness or tingling, though I now have 'splotches' (from the size of a quarter up to larger than a poker chip) on the back of my right hand, on the side of my left wrist, and on both ankles/top of feet.  I have had these splotches for almost a year, but nothing my doctor prescribed helped.  It now is starting to appear on my arms, legs and stomach, only much smaller.  They do not itch, but the larger ones are tender.  They resemble granuloma annulare, though my doctor does not believe this is what it is.  My doctor believes it is all related to an auto-immune condition, however we have not been able to track down what that is.  I have been tested for M.S., and that is negative.  My blood tests came back negative for the  RA factor and ANA antibodies. I have an elevated SED rate, and my red blood cell count is off. I am waiting (6+ months now) to see a dermatologist, and just recently was also referred to an internist (as I'm still waiting for the dermatologist and the 'splotches' are spreading - my doc was concerned).  Has anyone else ever had similar symptoms?

Hi itchymess12.
Welcome to the forum.

You sure have been through more in your short young life, than most other people in 2 lifetimes!!!
For sure your health is suffering greatly , as many of your bodies organs and systems are out of balance or impaired and your immune system very compromised.
What kind of treatment did you get for cancer and what type of cancer did you have?
Also what significant events preceded your illnesses from childhood on?

For now, you may try some of the suggestions from the above posts,
however, it's imperative that you do something to strengthen your immune system asap!
Essiac is an all natural herbal great immune tonic that could be taken along with any medication, as it is very safe -when taken as directed- and does not interfere with any other treatments you might be on.
Just do a search. Make sure it comes from a legitimate source.
You may also want to look into detoxification.
A good place to start is Jon Barrons website, to get a free, good online tutorial on the subject and you don't need to buy anything (if suggested).
Let me know, if you decide to do it.
I'm not sure of how capable you are to follow this in detail, so if you're not sure about it, get someone to facilitate this for you and act as your coach.
If that is not possible, then seek a holistic health practitioner.
Hope this helps.

PART 3

There are other possibilities, but the aforementioned stand out more.
What was your SED rate and what was your RBC count?
These tests are only indicative-NOT conclusive. The SED rate seems to be
significant and more accurate in the very high numbers only.

Lab results for infections are not always conclusive nor accurate (false positive or mostly false negative) . (re: RA and ANA)

In a study of 168 confirmed cases of acute infectious arthritis, white blood cell count was found increased in only 40% of the cases!

Also, you may want to do a self-test for Candida.
To test: leave a tall glass of water by your night-table. Upon waking up spit generously into the glass.
After 20 minutes if spit becomes long & stringy, or sinks to the bottom of the glass, you probably have candida (yeast infection).
Sinking spit is worse than stringy and floating, I believe.

How is your Tissue magnesium (NOT blood magnesium),Vitamin D, B12,  and Iron levels?

Post again or send me a message.
Take care!
Niko

Sorry for the 3 parts, but there's a glitch in MH and long replies cannot be posted.

PART 2
b. Look into Gliadin test (urine), by Cyrex labs. They test 12 forms-not just the alpha ordered by most doctors- of gliadins regarding gluten intolerance (not necessarily digestive).
Now they can also test which part of the body is affected.
Most sufferers who have gluten intolerance don't even know it!
The gluten molecules-mainly from gmo grains- resemble the TPO(Thyroid Peroxidase - an enzyme necessary for the signalling Thyroid hormone production) molecules and thus the immune system in its response against gluten, attacks the TPO in the Thyroid also!
You need to rule this out along with Hypothyroid. There's also a type 2 Hypothyroid, that most doctors miss. Check this out online.
If you need references let me know!
2. Underlying undetected infectious conditions such as Candidiasis,
Pathogenic Mycoplasma, Bartonella, HHV-6, Babesia, Ehrlichia etc.
These conditions are notoriously difficult to detect!
Dr. Garth Nicolson - the leading expert in this field-will be available next week to answer any related questions. I suggest you take advantage of this
and do some research online first
Check the recent post here posted by the MH Community Manager on Nov. 26., for more info on this.

Hi Trish from PEI!
And welcome to the forum.

First, let me express that you have amazing amount of inner strength ,
all these years to endure all this, without losing your sanity and your faith.
This is what I felt, anyway, when I read your post.

A few possible imbalances/impairments are suspect.
1. Grains/carbs/gluten intolerance.
Some things you can look into:
a.  Dr. Coca's Pulse Test, it's a free download, and it will indicate within a week, any reactivity, any allergies, any intolerance and sensitivity to anything ingested, that is considered offensive by the immune system.
It is a great self-test, for the degree of accuracy, however, should you find it too difficult to do because of your work, there's a simplified version that I can send you, as second option.
Never mind; It takes just an extra minute. Here it is:
Dr. Cocoa's Pulse Test (simplified version)Just sit in a chair and come to rest for about 5 minutes. Take your pulse for a full 1 minute (not the 15 sec. multiply by 4 thing). Then put whatever you want to test in your mouth and chew it for 30 seconds. Then take your pulse again. If you find it is faster by 6 beats, you are allergic or have a sensitivity to it. If you have type “O” blood, use 4 beats as the criteria instead of 6. It’s that simple.
