Glyconutrients for autoimmune disorders

Why aren't more people open to trying natural products and nutrients instead of drugs?

I have to totally 150% agree with you kjelltp.
This is my 26th day of no fastfood and no soda or caffeine.  My 40th day of eating differently ( trying to post on a health blog daily and sometimes get the days confused) and my 8th day of no animal protein to help my leaky gut heal.

I make a green drink that I have once a day and the pain in my back from an accident a year ago is going away.

FOOD and DETOX should be the frist line of defense.

The topic here says GLYCONUTRIENTS...and I for one have been on them for over a year now everyday..and believe it is part of what is helping reduce my antibody numbers.

Every one is different.  We all heal at different rates and from different things.  Autoimmune is tricky at best but i believe I am finally figuring out my body and what's gone wrong.

A few great books I've come across the last couple of years:
The Autoimmune Epidemic
The China Study
Fasting and Eating for Health
Anything by Dr. gabriel Cousins M.D.
Anything by David Wolf
Eat to Live

Glyconutrients are all about cellular communication.  What I tell people who don't want a "product" is that the fresher your food the MORE glyconutrients you are going to find.  IF you grow your own garden EAT IN YOUR GARDEN to get the most out of your food.
The glyconutrients the better off your cellular communication will be..and what is autoimmune disease but BAD COMMUNICATION...and ofcourse it isn't THAT SIMPLE..there is much more to understand...and what I have found and am finding is that trying certain things out on myself is my proof that it works for me.  Not saying it will work for everyone..we're all so different and have different lives, eat different foods, detox in different ways, have different stresses...but having ALL the options presented so we can make the best choices for ourselves is what needs to happen.

Eat well, live well, be well.

Welcome to the world of sceptics.

Most people believe orthodox drugs cure them, and food is just something to fill the stomach.  Alternative approaches are like snake oil, and vodoo,   I've been on that side too, and I had to get sick to realize how little the western medical system help people.  Got an emergency, sure, they have their purpose.   They need to open up, and accept that the only thing that heals us, is our bodies.   And the way to do this, is through proper nutrition, and proper detoxification.

I think you are exactly right-there needs to be a balance!  Just sometimes even with my own in-laws, wish they were more open to trying something natural rather than immediately adding more drugs-not realizing that every drug has a  side effect of some sort.

I think it's also important to realize some people are interested in natural products, but can be extremely put off by those who hawk natural products as the answer to all life's problems.

You ask an excellent question ! I know Prof. Garth Nicolson, who is the physician in the autoimmune diseases forum, does post dietary recommendations for chronically ill people on his website. Here is the link:
