Unknown Auto Immune?

Hi, I am a 29 year old female.  I am currently struggling with multiple symptoms for >3years.  These include:

• Upper back and neck pain that is episodic (including numbness, pain in right arm and left hip that at  times goes to the right knee)
• Neck “stuck” to one side
• Upper right abdominal pain that is not relieved by H2s, PPIs or antacids
• Abdominal tenderness when pressed upon
• Some weakness and pain in both legs (sometime RLS-like)
• Muscle Spasms
• Pain and swelling of hands and feet that sometimes includes a rash over my knuckles
• Fatigue
• Insomnia
• Multiple Kidney stones
• Loss of appetite

Test Include:
MRI Cervical Spine--Cervical disk Herniation with loss of signal at 3 locations with significant loss of lordotic curve

Ultrasound x 2—multiple Kidneys stones where the upper abdominal region can not be seen due to overlaying gas and lipomatosis with some thinning of the renal cortex

CT x 3 with and without contrast—kidney stones with all other things being normal
However, one CT showed some contrast dye in the vaginal area (this was attributed to a LEEP procedure I had) with a UTI infection and Vaginosis.  I am currently waiting on diagnosis of cervical cancer

Sed Rate-High
ANA-negative

I will be having an EMG, Thoracic MRI and some X-rays (neurologist) next week

Currently I am seeing specialist because for the last 3 years I have had 3 PCPs tell me that nothing is wrong with me except that I am stress out and that is why I am having muscle spasms and the neck pain.  2 weeks ago I got the cervical MRI and got some insight into my neck pain.  I am however having issues with doctors “connecting the dots.”  Due to insight in the Medical Community, I understand that one person can not know everything.  I understand that a lot of PCPs just want to treat symptoms but I do not.  I need to figure this out so that I can get on with my life.

My next steps are Urologist, Rheumatologist and Gastroenterologist

I need advise on what to do and how to find my answer

If you want to try something the Paleo diet has shown success in treating autoimmune disease.  I would google body detoxification so you can get information on how to get the bad things out of your body.  The book "Prescription for Nutritional Healing" might be useful.

Hello,

sorry you are going through so much at such a young age.  I am not a doctor, nor try to be one, but I have gone for years without a diagnosis and that is extremely hard. Sometimes, I would wish the test DID show something.  At least, then I would know what it was and know if there were any treatment.

Do you know how you hurt your cervical?  Were you in sports, had a physical job or even a one time, slam your head on something or other accident that whipped your neck?  The cervical involvement really would explain much of the neurological symptom, but did they also check your mid and lower back?  Just curious, I had L4-L5-S1 issues, but the cervical obstruction can actually cause the leg symptoms, they sometimes call it a "long tract" issue.

You really may want to consider starting a journal and get one small enough to put in your purse or briefcase, pocket, etc... tracking all of the issues, when, where, what you ate, the temperature even (if you are sensitive to the sun, even the sun coming through the windshield when you drive can affect it, my knuckles almost always get that way, even in the car.

Anyway, I hope you get answers soon,

Carly
