I developed what is called a "moon-faced due to taking prednisone.  Can my face go back to normal if I stop taking the prednisone?

Hi Cassie.

Thanks so much for your response.  It sure helped ease my fears about this.
Looking forward to being able to get away from prednisone soon.

Thanks once again.

The answer is YES your face will go back to normal once your off predisone. I was taking 80 mg's of predisone every day , I got what I called chipmunk cheeks. Yet after taking it fir several years it started to make my blood sugars way way to high so we lowered it till i was off of it, then after two weeks I went on methotrexate and I only have to take it once a week and doesn't cause my face to swell .

One thing I liked alot was after I was off of it people said it looked like I had lost alot of weight. that brought a wide smile to my face instead of chipmunk cheeks.

Take care
Cassie
