how does sjogrens syndrome effect the lungs?

how can  sjogrens syndrome cause Bronchiectasis? can lung issues be avoided without taking immune suppressant tablets? as having immune suppressants would make chances of lung infections higher which could cause more scarring in the lungs?

Sjogren syndrome is associated with various interstitial lung diseases:
- Nonspecific interstitial pneumonia (NSIP)
- Usual interstitial pneumonia (UIP)
- Lymphoid interstitial pneumonia (LIP)
- Diffuse lymphoid hyperplasia (DLH)
- Organizing pneumonia (OP)
Of these, NSIP is considered the most common pattern.
