New Sympton

Hey guys.  Hope everyone is doing better now or on the road to it.  I have not had too many good days in a long while.... I had a new symptom the other day.  When I got up the other morning, I had a real hard time with my legs.  I had the feeling that the muscles were very very tired and as the day went on, I had the feeling that I had no control or actual feeling in parts of them.  This only happened for the one day and it was all I could do to walk (I went to work, probably should not have done that).  Any ideas?????

Also, I have been reading some of the posts and see several of you have stomach problems.  I do not have as severe problems as y'all do.  My main problem is a constipated feeling.  I have gotten to where I have a lose of appetite after lunch.  My appetite is  normal until lunch.  Just wondering about that.  It doesn't compare with all of you.  It may also be because I am in some of the earlier stages on some of this.

Thanks all.

I have a lot of problems with my legs, also. Sometimes it feels as if the muscles are cramping. Sometimes as if the bones hurt. I thought it had something to do with blood pooling, but as it turns out, that would create pain in one'd neck and shoulders instead.

For the last 2 months, I pushed(even forced) myself to walk. It started around the block and eventually, I am jogging about 1/2 mile and walking 1-2 miles a day. My legs still hurt and ache, but I feel better overall. If you don't feel like you CAN walk, then it's probably not a good idea. But, did you take your blood pressure at this time? Have you been drinking enough fluids and/or electrolytes? If you do have dysautonomia, it's not a good idea to take a hot bath, but a luke warm one might help for your legs. Potassium also helps for leg cramps. You may want to try Hyland's Restful Legs.

I always have constipation. Bloated feeling, too. I guess, they go along with eachother. My doctors say I have GERD and IBS. These are common symptoms. I take alot of colace. Was even prescribed amitiza. Though, nothing really helps, but it's worth a try.
When I am very costipated, my appetite is supressed, just because you are so full already. If it starts to cause pain, you can go to the hospital for a CT scan of the abdomin. That's what I did, and they discovered my bowels were absolutely full! If you really haven't gone for a week or more, then try magnesium citrate. It works.

Hop I could help.

I can't feel my legs at times.  You can literally poke me and I won't feel it.  My dysautonomia (POTS, OI, gastroparesis) are a result of a type of peripheral neuropathy which also affects sensory and motor nerves.  Here's the MedHelp page to read and see if you can relate:

My son describes his legs as "twizzlers".  Sometimes he can barely stand, like they are licorice.

I do a lot of walking in my line of work.  I will actually at times try to "power walk", especially when we are slow and I have nothing to do.  I try to constantly drink something.  I crave water alot.  I will try some of the tips y'all gave me.
Aire,  I still had some feeling.  It is actually kind of hard to explain.  I just know it was very hard to walk.  I agree with Christy's son on the "twizzlers" feeling.  It is like you really have no control of your legs.

I go to the doctor tomorrow.  Will let y'all know what happens.  Thanks

Have you ever tried wearing compression stockings?  I'm not certain how helpful they would be to the condition you describe, but it may be something to try.

I may try those.  Have not yet.  I am having some more problems with my legs today so I may need to get them sooner rather than later.

After walking about 30 feet my legs would just not hold me up.  I had 5 trips to ER's before PAF was diagnosed. (Since then I just lie still until the dizziness passes and I can sit up enough to drink a pint of something.)
Also had a loss of appetite and lost weight quickly.  Diagnosis: gastroparesis.  Many with this condition have severe constipation.  And also have PAF.
Leg problem was low circulating norepinephrine,  which was a problem after I had been sitting for a while.
Just a thought.
