Does anyone know what this could be? (Ears turning red and facial numbness)

Hi all,

I'm a 21 year old female with POTS and PCOS. Recently I've been having some concerning and annoying symptoms. My left ear turns super red, hot, and painful. When this happens, the left side of my face feels numb and my neck feels tight. It really scares me when this happens because it is so uncomfortable. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Thank you so much!

I have had very similar issues. It could be related to your vagus nerve. I have a lot of medical issues...2 cervical fusions (2011-2012) and 2 thoracic outlet surgeries (2014). I had a neuro stimulator in Sept 2017 (basically a device that stimulates the vagus nerve in your earlobe transmitting signals to your brain). Ever since I have had issues with facial/neck numbness, body tingling, excessive flushing (mostly in my ears and face) and increased heart rate and/or blood pressure.
