does pain mgt injections for hip pain/post lumbar surgery help at all?

I had lumbar surgery l4-s1, 14 screws 2 rods last sept 2015 and am having severe pain in my hips, butt and numbness/tingling in left foot. I had my first set of injections from a pain mgt dr last Friday, and it made things worse, the pain is severe. The receptionist's response to my call was, "the first shots stir things up, should get better with next shots.."  Should I trust that the next set will solve some of the symptoms or do I have justified worrries about more shots? reading the forum, it doesn't seem like theres much hope for treatment of this hip pain so many of us are experiencing. (and yes I know , everyone is different when healing.)

This won't help you, but I had the same shots in my L1-L2 I left the PM clinic limping having pain in areas that I didn't before I went in.  I asked the nurse what the heck was going on, I thought it was supposed to numb not create pain.  She said it will get better with the 2nd shot. Which was supposed to last longer (up to 6 months in some cases longer), after looking it up on a web site couldn't figure it out.  I didn't have anyone to ask then I never went back.  So I will be watching for anyone who answers you also.  I was afraid that after the second shot I would have that pain to add to my repertoire.  Good luck,  I hope it works out for you.
