Has anyone had a 2nd fusion

I had 3 level anterior cervical surgery at c-4, c-5,c-6 almost 3 years ago I am scheduled to have surgery for c-4 in a couple of weeks.  Recovery from the first surgery was not easy, and I assume that is was because of the multi-levels.  I am wondering if anyone has experience with additional cervical surgeries?

HI,
I do not have any info for you on a 2nd fusion unfortunately, but i am contemplating surgey for my c5-c6 and c6-c7 herniation. I have been told it will be a anterior cervical disecomy with fusion. Is this the same surgery yoyu had and if you do not mind, what was hard about your recovery?
so sorry not to have help for you. If I find out anything that would be good info for you, I will send it to you,
Thanks,

Hello, I would do more research on newer surgeries b4 I'd do that. I have had ACD & F of C5-C6 and was good for @3 mos. then the bottom fell out. I was burning in right arm and the Neuro said himself it was my C5. So, I don't know what to tell u but make sure u have a good Neuro because I think mine messed me up. I didn't file malpratic but should I think. I have so many symptoms now. It is ur call but I would do research like I said. Make sure that they have done many many fusions and always get a second opinion. U might just need adjustments that is what my Chiro said that I didn't even need my surgery. tooo late now..take care and God Bless..karen

How about 2nd lumbar fusion? has any body have any experience with that?
I have had 3 level fusions. 2 in 2007 L3-L5 then injured my back this yr and had to have another fusion again. This time the took out the old hardware from 2 yrs ago, when they did this last fusion of L2-L3. My last surgery was 6/11/09.and I am still in fair moderate pain. The DR said it is fusing, but not sure quite why I still have pain in my lower back and upper buttocks. So.......they released me to Pain Management Dr who immmediately diagnosed my problem as inflammed SI Joint. i had a cortisone joint injection the other day, how ever, not sure if it helps or not.
I am not released to do PT yet, but i hope to soon. I got  to be totally fine after the last fusion and was hoping that by now I would be there again.
I am doing acupuncture, massages, 12.5 fentynal patch and I still have to wear the ridiculous back brace.
Any body out there have any experience with this kind of bad back problems? i am searching for answers and hope. I am a 48 yr old healthy male other wise. I did return to work a few weeks ago, and of course I had a major flare up.
the one good thing, most of my leg symptoms disappeared after the surgery, so thats a good sign, but the trauma from the surgery is still major and now so long after the surgery I am getting worried that I will be stuck with this pain for the rest of my life.
Pain meds suck though. no way to live a life.
