Pain which is present for a lengthy period and is not associated with any traumatic event should be evaluated further.  While you are relatively young (peeked at your profile), it is possible that you may have some evidence of degenerative disc disease that is affecting your spine.  This is suggested due to the radiation of the pain down your hips and legs.
The "lumps" might be an incidental finding (we associate anything out of the ordinary as a possible cause of our symptoms), or an immune response to inflammation of the muscles.
The only way to determine if there are abnormalities that can be treated effectively is to have a physical exam and diagnostic testing which could include blood work and x-rays.
Hopefully you have the ability to seek medical attention and arrive at a resolution to your condition.
Best wishes ----
