Lumbar Epidural Injections

I was scheduled for an epidural injection 3 Fridays ago, but when I got there the pain had subsided and the Dr. said he didnt want to do it.  He told me to call and reschedule when the pain and numbness comes back. My question is for anyone who has had injections on here. Do they work?  Who can give me their story on lumbar epidural injections?  Thanks a bunch.

Ginger,
I never went back for injections till this past winter 2013-14.  I've had a total of 4.  You were correct.....none of them worked for me. 2 out of 3 neurosurgeons told me I need a 3 level fusion.  Oh no, I am waiting on that one.  Thank you for your response to my post, and sorry I didn't get back sooner.

I have never had any luck with the 3 sets of LESI's and honestly they were super painful. I have had steroid injections on other parts of my body like wrist and shoulders that did work very well.  My father has had them and had relief for months. It all depends on the person. Depending on how you do you may or may not need all three injections. Make sure you know the benefits and risks of the injections before you get them. I hope your pain stays away any you do not need them.
Best of luck to you!
