Also the pain in my mid back and under my shoulder blades is horrible. i had steroid and botox injections done about two weeks ago with no help to me. also i get a prickly sensaition in my mid back? i am going back to my doctor next week, but thought maybe I gcould get some adice and help. the muscle spasms are very bad and sometimes i cant get of the couch or move. my neck cracks or sounds like fluid moving around all the time. I'm so very tired of all this and would like to get some answers! I just turned 27 And i feel like i am 90. When I said Lumbar DDD doesn't translate upward, I did not say it can't cause pain to radiate upward.
The difference being: DDD is accelerated by injury causing additional compression or compensation.
The lumbar DDD doesn't increase compression upward. (not significantly)

nevermind well from what i just read about it says it can radiate pain up to the neck area? Well going to see my orthopedic tomorrow i wrote down everything. i have no leg problems or weekness i have no tingling in my hands. Maybe my spine is out of wack from the accident. I did have a airbag and seatblet that busted my clavical and sternum... thanks for you help=)

Those symptoms would stem from the C-spine, not T-spine.
T-spine (t-1) does effect the hand. The rest effect trunk and abdomen. The shoulder area is c-spine and upper back is radiating pain.
People with DDD, in the c-spine, usually have it in T and L. However, the progression is usually not as rapid or extreme.
Lumbar DDD is generally injury induced, and that doesn't translate upward.

Also kyphosis is what i have and with not finding out about the whiplash till 5 months after the accident, is not very good for me. So I guess I know why my neck hurts, but its my mid back thats tingles and hurts and the muscle spasms are everywhere on my back.. alot near my spine and under my shoulder blades.

You did not mention x-rays or MRI? Or seeing a Neurologist?
What are your cervical discs like? It sounds like a classic C-spine (maybe c5-c6 or c-6-c7) compression and probable compression of the spinal canal/cord. The cracking sounds like injury induced degenerative disk disease, or osteophytes from disc herniation.
The neck curvature is Kyphosis, and leads to cervical spondylotic myelopathy.

I'm only 27 and in chronic pain so I know what you're going through, especially the feeling 90 part!  My best advice for you would be to ask to be sent to pain management, if you're not there already. I'm in pain management right now and while I'm still in pain, it's a lot better than it was when I was being treated by my primary. Primary's can only do so much. Are you on anything for pain right now? If you're going to be in chronic pain you might as well be treated by a pain specialist.
