Numb Buttocks

Hi it's Lyssie and I would like any advice you could give me!
Basically to cut a very long story short I had spinal surgery for scoliosis when I was 17 I was fused from T11 to L3 with a rod and 5 screws... I developed last year osteoarthritis and 2 bulging discs all between L4/5/S1 so had facet joint injections and nerve root blocks. The leg pain went away and I've only had it a little since then on the odd occasion. I have been taking tramadol and have recently come off it.. I am determained not to go back on it as I know you can develop a dependancy to the painkiller and I have already been on it for about 6 months now.
Basically for the last few weeks I have been getting a numb bottom even when I'm standing. I am in so mucb pain with my back and really, honestly don't know what to do! I am 20 years old. Should I go to my GP? Should I see my spine consultant?

Many thanks, Lyssie :-)

Hi There, I just though I'd update!
I've been to physio on friday. And she measured my legs up and the lft one is shorter than the right one again, (as it was before my scoliosis surgery!) So Mr L's secretary is still gonna call tomorrow as he'll be back from holiday...
Still having a lot of pain :'-( Will keep update, Lyss xx

Thank you so much Selma,

I am going to ask about pain management clinics etc on Monday when the secretary gets back to me. That's a good idea. I guess knowing my surgeon - any time I've had pain or scatica - he's always sent me for an MRI scan. Which is good so maybe he'll send me for one this time, not sure? Well we shall see.

Many thanks, will keep updated,
Lyssie

Hi Selma thank you for your reply. I will make sure I contact my spine specialist at least for some advice. Just the problem is I have no money to get down to London until later July :-( The back pain is still there today unfortunately. If it worsens as the day goes by I will make an appointment with my GP for as soon as I can. I resorted to taking a tramadol tablet yesterday. Feels like it's wearing off now (it's a slow release tramadol tab)
I'm seeing my physio on friday who I called yesterday for some advice.

Will keep you all updated,

Lyssie
