A guy who worked for me a few years back described the same pain when he was doin' his girl. We teased him for about two weeks as the pain he had continued. Finally his girl called in and said he was in hospital with pneumonia. It wasn't the usual kind as the fluid was building up in a huge sack surrounding his lung and heart. They stuck a hose in his side and drew a gallon of Lipton Tea looking stuff off overnight. He lost a lot of weight over his 15 day stay in hospital but he was off work for a month. If your symptoms effect your breathing, if you feel pain when you cough or swallow, go to Health Clinic or Urgent Care AND GET AN X-RAY!
Hi!
Well, popping noise followed by pain can be due to herniated disc, ligament or muscle injury. Since you feel pain radiating to your arm and weird sensation on your collar bone, chances of slipped disc are more. You can apply ice, take non-steroidal anti-inflammatory such as Tylenol, Aleve or Mobic and take complete rest on a hard bed (or lie on a mattress on ground). However, it is very important to show this to a doctor as soon as you can. Take care!

Just a little more info. The pop was in the middle right side of my back, and it did not feel like a muscle or bone popping. It didn't feel like a normal, "pop." It hurts when I do almost anything like breathing, swallowing, moving my arms. It also causes this weird sensation in my collarbone that feels like someone is pouring warm water down my collarbone. Research I've done shows its either a blood vessel injury, pulmonary embolism, herniated spinal disc, and some others.
