Thoracic Pain

I know they say it is rare for there to be problems in the thoraic area but I guess I am one of the lucky rare people.  My MRI results:

1. At t8-9 small midline disc protrusion has effaced the ventral subarachnoid space.

2.  T11-12 midline disc protrusion with epidural hematoma, effaces the ventral subarachnoid space.

3.  T2 thought T8 mild hydromyelia is present..  This may be secondary to the disturbances of CSF ciriculation secondary to the disc protrusion at T8-9.

From this MRI why do I hurt so badly throughout my mid back.  So very painful most of the time.  Thanks!

Sorry you suffer the same pain.  I too go to PM but the shots are short lived and so expensive.  My lumbar back is no better.  I have broad based disk bulging at L2-3 amd moderate degree at L3-4, L4-5, and L5-S1.  Anterior marginal osteophyte formation is present at L2-3 and L3-4.  The disk bulge at L3-4 and L4-5 produce effacement of the thecal sac mild canal narrowing.  Annular tear at L5-S1.

I am in so much pain everyday.  I am on strong medication but I worked so I try not to take it much during the work day.  Everyone seems to get worse.  I wake up and every joint in my body hurts.  Maybe one day we will find relief.

Believe me , you are anything but lucky. I know you were just joking.
I have a very similar problem. I have tried everything that medicine has to offer except surgery (which they said is too risky). I have tried chiro, massage, yoga, physical therapy(which made it worse).....you get the picture. I have recently (the past two years) started seeing a pain management doctor with mixed results. Some of the injections have worked, but I am allergic to steroids so they have not been as effective as they otherwise would have been. I am taking pain meds now and that really does help. However you should be very cautious with those. They can be very habit forming and have many side effects.
I live with my pain daily and still function, some days ,better than others.
I hope you can find the help you need. But there is not too much they can do in the area of thoracic pain. Lumbar and cervical pain are much easier to treat.
Good luck to you and let me know if you find something that helps...ron
