back pain and weird indentation!

3 years ago I had a burning sensation in my back. It developed into a small indentation which began to grow. I started getting chronic back pain in the middle of my back where the dent was. Doctors told me to take panadole and stretch etc. The dent got larger and dimply, the pain spread further.  I had a ct which showed shermans disease so doctors wrote me off. A while later I was in so much pain I went back. I got a bone scan and an mri that showed nothing,  they suggested water aerobics.  Three years later the indentation is large and I believe growing.  My back is sensitive to touch and always sore, I feel like an old woman-not a 22 yr old. So many specialists and scans later. He doctors keep giving me anti depressants and saying its fibromyalgia.  But isnt something happening in my body here?! It is really hard to see on photos. My physio says it looks like the muscle is wasting away and he can feel my ribs?

IDK if you ever got any treatment for your issue? Or if you will ever even see this. I have had an indentation in my upper middle back since middle school (I am 35 now). I have seen a couple doctors about it and they have said it isn't dermatologic and another one told me it was a lipoma (definitely is not) I might have some Kyphosis or Lordosis but I don't think that would cause the muscle to seem to waste away. I also have other symptoms like random neck and back pain, migraines, tingling and numbness in my fingers and toes, as well as some weird skin sensations and reactions to temperature change. So I am concerned that it may be nerve damage that in turn caused muscle atrophy and that it may be getting worse as I am getting older. I have been to the regular doctor to look for causes for my pain thinking I might have some autoimmune disease or arthritis but all my panels came back negative and besides PCOS and being overweight I am completely healthy! I know it has been a really long time since you posted but maybe someone can help. I have some pictures of the indentation in my back if there is a way for me to add them or share them I would be glad to!

I know this was posted a while ago, but I have similar symptoms as you, although I have an indent on my neck and upper back pain/discomfort on that side. I also get numbness, extreme weakness in my muscles, tingling, instead of migraines tension headaches. On the side I also get joint pain and my problems are getting worse just like you. I am currently seeing a neurologist and I suggest you to do so as well. Possible causes of my symptoms, from what my neurologist told me, could be a complex migraine like a hemiplegic migraine, multiple sclerosis, or myasthenia gravis. Also for weird sensations and reactions on your hands during temperature change could be raynaud's disease. But please talk with your doctor about these, I wish you the best of luck on your diagnosis journey and don't be afraid of advocating for yourself.

I believe your diagnosis is called Scheuermann's disease.

You'll find more information here:

I have a huge dent on my upper buttocks - it is red - no pain not sore at all, but there is no muscle mass there - my massage therapist said she doesn't feel any soft tissue in that spot.  It has been there for 8 months, no reason that I  know of.  The indent is 1 inch deep and two inches across - any thoughts?
That's weird, huh?  So, do you see a doctor regularly that you'd be willing for them to take a look?  It's fairly large.  Question?  Have you had a shot there?  I have heard of his happening after an injection.
