cerebral aneurysm clip

Had a cerebral aneurysm clip in 1978, and have been told there is no way I can have an MRI.  At the present time I am in considerable pain from either ITB, abductor tendonosis or some other soft tissue problem.  I have been unable to be diagnosed because of the aneurysm clip.  Cortisone shots, physical therapy and pain management have not been able to resolve the problem, which affects my sleep, sitting and driving.  Are there any other tests, and what type of doctor would prescribe them?

Thanks for your response. Yes, I've had CT scans w/o any problem. It's just that an MRI is out of the question. Hoping that one day there will be a way to diagnose people like me with soft tissue issues, but at the moment that doesn't seem to be possible, except for ultrasound.

The presence of metal does restrict the testing availability.  I am not a Radiologist or physician, but I wonder if a CAT scan can be done as opposed to an MRI?  Your treating doctor is not offering any suggestions?  An ultrasound test may be an option, but you really need to discuss the potential of these tests with a skilled othro or neurosurgeon.
