Do you have slumping posture of the mid back (especially sitting- do you work at a computer and have bad body mechanics)?

This posture typically also has rounded shoulders.  The back is in a convex curve while the front chest wall is in a concave position with a sort of sub-luxation and inflammation of where the ribs meet the sternum.

I have had costochondritis myself and it lasted only a couple of weeks. I am also a nurse of 18 years and I have never seen anyone who has had it for 4 years. I would seek a second opinion, if I were you.

Yes, it can wrap all the way around, do you have stinging? How was your diagnosis confirmed, what kind of treatments are you having?
