Back/Shoulder pain

I have a really bad STABBING BREATHING TAKING pain between my right shoulder blade and my spine.  I have seen 2 doctors have had X-rays, MRI, bone testing, ultra-sound, gone and had shots, therapy, chircpratic treatments, heat packs, ice packs, sleeping on the floor, in the bed with a pillow between my knees, a flatten pillow, a thick  pillow, and who knows what else.  This has been going on for more than 5 years and other than going to the ER for a shot of morphine, noting stops the pain or prevents it from getting worse when it starts.  It wakes me when I am sleeping, happens when I am on the computer, sitting watching TV, driving the car, playing bingo or almost anything that I am doing. Each time the pain hits, it feels like a ice pick stabbing me in the SAME spot each and every time.  The ice pick goes in than out over and over for hours or until I get the shot of morphine.  Each time the ice pick hits, it takes my breath away, makes it hard to talk, or even move.
Please, if you know what this might be, if you have any idea what I can do to stop this pain, please let me know.  My doctors, several of them, tell me to get use to taking DOLIUM (rx for cancer pain) when I first start felling the pain as so far it is the only thing that helps part of the time.  Otherwise, morphine shots (not pills) is the only thing that really works.

If you are suffering from these types of pain for quite some time, consider going to a chiropractor. The pain can also be an early symptom of arthritis. The chiropractors work to maintain a healthier nervous system.  You must go to a professional chiropractor once to address your issues.

I believe you mean Dilaudid, a pain medication approx 4 times the strength of morphine.

Have you seen an anesthesiologist specializing in pain management? Usually these doctors are accredited by the American Board of Pain Management and are credentialed DABPM. Sometimes this practice is called "interventional pain management."

They have techniques in getting pain medicine into the sensory nerve plexus behind the shoulder blade, where I suspect the "ice-pick" is located.
