I'd like to start off with saying that I broke my neck 5 years ago and I have a lot of nerve damage, but recently (the last month or so) my back on my left side between the middle and upper section has begun to feel raw. There isn't a rash or anything, but it hurts to touch or even let my shirt brush against it and sometimes it hurts constantly. It's like a stinging feeling (like when you scrap your knee). Well, last night I started getting this ache pain in the section, and it hurts really bad there when I breathe in. Which is causing me to naturally breathe shallower. The pain goes into my back, rib cage, through my lung, and onto my left breast.
And I'm not sure if this is related, but about 9 months ago I got this cough that I couldn't get rid of. I had it for months and when I went to the doctor they asked me over and over if I smoked (which I don't) and then said I probably had asthma. I'm almost 20 years old and rather healthy. The cough kind of went away, although it comes about randomly sometimes, and I've noticed it gets really hard for me to breath with I go on hikes, runs, anything to get my heart racing.
I was wondering if anyone has any ideas of what could be wrong with me.
I plan on going to the doctor soon.
