I have had MRI, CT and Xrays for lower back /sacroiliac pain. Ongoing for more than a year now. The tests show some abnomalties (moderate bulge disk). The dr's think the pain comes from sacroiliac joint though, but are not sure and have not seen the problem on any other patients the CT scan show. The CT shows "Large bridging osteophytes of the anterior superior sacroiliac joint" If you google that....It shows an article with ct pictures that look exactly like mine. They also show an after surgery ct scan of the joint witht the osteophytes removed. It is the only thing I have found that explains my symptoms, findings (with pictures) and how they fixed it. The dr. that did that proceedure is in Australia. I have visited 3 spine surgeons, and called 2 more to find no one knows anything about this in the US. I live in Chicago....I show the test results and the internet article to the surgeons.....they say they are not familiar with it - have a nice day. Seems like I should be able to find someone in the Chicago area that has come across this finding before. Just wondering if anyone on the forum has ever read a post with a similar problem or may have a similar problem?
