C6-T1 fusion c7 burst fracture

I'm looking for any information from someone with a similar injury. My accident happened august 5th and ive been out of the collar for a couple weeks. I can't move my head down or back as far as i could prior and when i do there is an audible crackling noise. is this cause for concern? it seems to be settling down now. side to side neck movement is unaffected and produces no sound. I have some nice new metallic body parts, couple rods and some screws i believe, but will it be possible to have them removed in the future?

I suffered a minor SCI (brown-sequard/central cord syndrome) but its almost back to normal now, i healed well as i am only 19. Will it degenerate as i age?

advice/anecdotes appreciated

Hi there!

Well, it would be difficult to comment specifically on the situation without knowing the relevant clinical details. The movement may gradually improve over time while it may not be advisable to have all metallic parts removed. If the neurological symptoms have improved, later degeneration is unlikely.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!

oh, and stably fractured C3 as well, the crackling seems to emanate from up there and i sometimes get dull pain from there as well, while my fusion doesn't really bother me
