Can nerve compression at L5 S1 cause trigger points in the legs, and gleuteus muscles?  Does anyone know of any other causes of trigger points.  sweetpotatoe57

Hi. I just wanted to add that this nerve compression puts pressure on the sciatic nerve that runs from the lower back all the way through the gluts and hamstrings and calf even into the toes. this is called "sciatica"

Yes it can. I had the same problem and recently had surgery. I had pain in the buttock, out knee and heel.....sometime it would radiate down the leg through the hamstring. When you say "trigger points do you mean pain?
