Neck and Back Pain

I had a nerve conduction done by a neurologist.  The result showed I have carpal tunnel in right hand.  I had surgery for carpal tunnel in the same hand in 1998.  I also have been told that I have degenerative disc disease in C5 and C7 areas.  My doctor said that the carpal tunnel can be coming from my neck and doing carpal tunnel surgery wouldn't help if it was coming from my neck.  Have you ever heard of carpel tunnel coming from neck pain  If so, what treatment would you suggest?

The pain you feel in your wrist (carpal tunnel) is called radiculopathy. The nerves running from your neck are triggering pain in your wrist.

Your doctor is using "carpal tunnel" to describe your pain, but not its source.

I had an emg study done as well that showed carpal tunnel. The dr that did my test said if it were due to cervical radiculopathy, it would of shown up as such instead of carpal tunnel. Hope that helps!! Take care ~S~
