Pressure in my upper back

I have a strange sensation in my right upper to middle back. if I sleep on my right side, when I get up it feels like my skin is burning. Often during the day (regardless of how I sleep) it feels like something is pushing on my back, always in the same area which feels like its about 6 or 7 inches in diameter. Sometimes it itches; sometimes it feels like something is grabbing my back. Now and then it feels like little bugs are running around inside of my skin.
I don't know what kind of doctor to see about this. My internist thinks it's a nerve thing - my spine trying to compensate for the fact that I am overweight. I gues my question is , what kind of doctor should I see, and what could this be?

did you ever find out what was causing the back sensations you described on 13/01/07

I have the exact same problem. My GP can suggest nothing is wrong. Have you found out anything else?

I have exactly the same complaint. My GP can find nothing wrong and can make no suggestions as to what could be the problem. Have you had any further info or seen a specialist in anything
