I started getting back pain around the age of 26. I lasted until 33 before going for 2 level artificial disc lumbar surgery in 2009.
Instant failure.
I have not been able to sit down since.
When I woke from op I had instant sciatica round the back of both knees. Today I can hardly walk.
I have been on pain meds now for 20 years including Lyrica. They just don’t work now.
I have been offered surgery to remove the disc at L5/S1 and replace with cage. This is for sure the source of of most of my pain. The surgeon is very experienced but has given me a 50/50 chance of improvement due to how long I have been in pain.
I am very wary of Surgeons as the man who performed the op abandoned me straight after despite promising to keep in touch. He was a cowboy for sure.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
