Hi, I have this problem & discovered when I was 15yrsold.(now 55) The first I knew there was a problem was waking one morning & being semi paralysed from neck down. Any movment caused severe paid but after about 4 hurs it seemed that all was OK. After being diagnised I was told to wait until adult when an operation would have to be done to fuse L3,L4 & S1. I had a Grade 1 problem. I had to have two ops done as first one failed after 18 mths. Since then I have suffered with chronic back pain & the 2nd fussion also failed. I believe that these days there are better methods like key hole surgery from front & inserting two small cylindrical titaniam capsules in between the affected verteabrae which in time then fuses these two (or more) verteabrae together. Its woth looking up this proceedure.(sorry about my spelling)
I am a 38yrs female. I was diagnosed 15yrs ago with spondylilothesis(grade 1) of the L4/L5 with a degenerative disc. Those wanted to do surgary then but insurance company fought it. So now I am now in a point where I have pain when standing, sitting, walking even laying in bed hurts now. I have been to several drs. 1 told me that im fine that i just need to walk and strengthen my muscles, 2nd- told me he wanted to fuse them/3rd said that he does not recommend surgary and keeps uping my pain meds. I am at the point I am not sure of what to do,,,Im lost. I need to find someone that has been thru this or knows someone who has, to help.
Hope to hear from you soon
