whats next for me?

hi everyone....i have had a problem in my neck and shoulder for over 5 years and with theinfluence of my parents i have been to an osteopath for several years on and off and this has always helped....recently though i have been experiencing pain in the back of my neck running accross my shoulder and down my right arm causing numbness tingling and extream cold in said arm and hand. i also get that dull, just hit your funny bone, ache/pain in my elbow and shoulder and now in the last couple of days in my finger joints.....i had an mri scan a few days ago, and awaiting the results, unfortunately they won;t be through for another 2-3 weeks.....does anyone out there know whats going to happen next? they A&E doctor said that there is most likely a protruding disk in my neck and mentioned something surgery but that was it.....i'm living on ibuprofen and co-codamols at the moment and its all driving me mad as i'm normally so active.....please help if you know anything....

After being diagnosed with C5 and C6 herniation's with a cervical MRI due to similar symptoms as yours...just down the L arm instead of R...I ended up having an  Anterior Cervical Fusion at C6-7 w/ACDR at C5-6 14months after injury...hope you get to be pain free and find out what's happening...
