I've been going from med to med for 15 years now. I am current on 4--lithium, lamictal, lorazepram, and seroquel. I am tapering off the last one with the intention of starting Latuda--the last of any anti-depressant/bipoar whatever there is to try that I have not. Quite frankly, I am more interested in looking into alternate solutions. ECT seems like the only other one right now. So I really have 3 questions 1. I'd love to hear about any Latuda experiences, 2. Any ECT experiences, and 3. Other options where medication did not help. If it is useful, I find I rapid cycle the last two weeks of my menstrual cycle, every month, so I am currently doing that at least half or more of the year. I really need the light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you-SB

Thank you--I think you are right.  I want to look at all aspects of the situation--holistic and otherwise.
The FWS is very interesting, and brought up DBS (Deep Brain Stimulation) as well.  Most of these seem to be prescribed for Major Depressive Order, and only occasionally for Bipolar.
I continued to lose it tonight an called my pdoc but ended up hanging up on her tonight.  Whoops.  She was just making me more mad...  I told her that I want to look into these and have no clue now if that will mean anything, I should probably just start looking for a new doc at this point.  This one is a RNP, and maybe I just need a little more?
Anyway, thank you for the ideas--I will look into all of them!

I still see my pdoc but  I am seeing a Holistic Dr. As well with the hope of eventually disc the pdoc. Seeing a Holistic Dr. is worth a try.

As for ECT. There is a device you can either rent or buy called The Fisher Wallace Stimulator in place of ECT. It is like ECT but milder. You do it yourself. My pdoc just told me about it. Your pdoc needs to fill out a form from Fisher to rent or purchase it. Check it out on the web. It is FDA approved.
