Forcible Auditory Tricks

How many of you can make yourself hear audio hallucinations of your own thoughts such as making yourself hear music especially when you're tired if you focus enough?  Haven't done this lately but I can and I was wondering how many other people can do it.

I'm talking about any audio related thoughts you think of, sounding as if it's a real sound that is occurring in the room and not in your thoughts.  Like... I think of a cat meowing and hear the exact same thought coming from 5 feet away.

Mmmmmham I like ham too. lol  This is making me start to think people are supposed to actually experience their thoughts as real sensations.

I think I get it. So are you now having trouble controlling it or what? And why would you want to? Don't voices insult you or do you carry pleasant conversations with them. If it's pleasant I guess I could see why you would do it. But if they call you names why? I was asking cuz mom hears voices and they insult her and stuff like that. Mean things. I thought most people hear negative voices. I hope I'm making my point. I mean if it was me I wouldn't want to be insulted by hallusinations when I can just insult myself. You know what I'm saying.

Mmmmhhhammm. I might do that kinda. Sometimes, when i hear a noise or something faint, I will turn on my listening ears and see if it comes again. Like i'll want it to repeat itself so I can better understand. I dont know how to describe it, its complicated. But im not hallucinating or anything I dont think, there just faint people talking inside my ear. Psychic radio...
When I was a little younger I could force myself to do it, at least i think it was forced. I wanted to know what this girl I knew was feeling like when she hallucinated. And I would talk to her so much i started hallucinating. But that was also the year I saw a bazillion ghosts in my house as my ability was budding and also coming full force, i could have just been activating the radio.
Im hearing someone now kinda and im not sure if im forcing but it just came randomly while typing this..but im panicking cause its getting louder. :S A young man is whispering....
Kay, gone now. Phewf!

OK like huh? What do you mean exactly? What is the differance than thinking music in the head and forcing an auditory hallusination. I am confuised.

Yeah, was just curious who else like you for example who could make themselves have specific ones and in what ways.  I could also do other things besides music which was just an example, it was pretty much any sound related thoughts would manifest as actual sounds for me.

Before I recovered the only way I could make myself have specific auditory hallucinations including music was to "mask" other auditory hallucinations that might be unnerving or frightening. At other times it might happen but often the specific song I would hear like many auditory hallucinations would in some way be a running commentary on what was going on my life or I believed so in a delusional state. Remember each person and the specific auditory or other hallucinations they have is different. Bipolar with psychotic features or schizoaffective may be a very specific criteria but like with anything no one experiences it exactly the same way. They are learning more about this.

Well I meant actually hear it in your ears like it's playing.

Auditory hallucinations are involuntary. Anyone can think of music or a song if they want to even if they have no psychiatric disability. If that topic interests you I suggest you read the book "Musicophillia". It might be at your local library.
