Update: No need to worry about "sprinkling" or anything else. I didn't even get around to asking my Psychiatrist about it, because we had a lot of other things to talk about.
I was re-prescribed the Lithium in December 2009, and when I met up with my Psychiatrist in January 2010, I was immediately taken off it. I gained 15 pounds during that one month. I don't remember that being a huge side effect my first time around with it, but I was taken off it for the first time back in July for one reason or another.
Still on the hunt for the right combination of medication... currently back on Abilify.
Thanks for the responses!

if i was you i would just take it with water..this is a ion salt..it might not work doing that might even be dangerous...
Thanks, I will do that. It's not an actual upset stomach, it's more of a mental "uneasy" feeling, if that makes sense. Not sure why it happens though. :\
You could ask your psychiatrist as with Depakoate there is a version called Depakoate sprinkles that is meant to be opened and sprinkled on food as relatives do that (in its original use as an anti convulsant) for a cousin of mine who has Rett's Syndrome (a severe developmental disability) and would not know what it is or take it on her own. I am not sure if the same is true of lithium though so make sure to find out from your psychiatrist. Also think of what your uneasiness is due to. If its because of it upsetting your stomach the coated version Lithobid could be one answer. I believe there is also an extended release version of lithium as well.
No, not all. For me, it would just be easier to consume. I take seven different kinds of medication throughout the day, and for whatever reason I start to develop and uneasiness about swallowing my Lithium pills. It could be because I have so many to take throughout the day or something; I'm not sure. The end result, I don't want to take my medication... which isn't good.
Are you saying this because of the salt factor? You know, in the 40's (I think it was the 40's or 50's) they actually used to do that. They would have lithium salt and pepper on people's tables at meal time. It made people feel great. Then people started dropping like flies. So that wasn't such a good idea. Live and learn right? They took that off the market real quick.
