Need Help

I have been married to my wife for 4 yrs.  She has put me through the ringer over these years.  Recently, she has been diagnosed Bipolar II, and is on 2 types of medicines.  This is working great, except I have two areas now that have me questioning my marriage.  It seems she doesn't have the ability to emotional connect to anyone, is this a symptom of Bipolar?  Secondly,  there is no passion in our life, just sex.  Our relationship started out with passion but it didn't last past a couple of months, is this a symptom of Bipolar?

Sometimes meds can make you feel disconnected and sometimes the harshness of having a condition like bipolar can make you feel very alone and hesitant to trust anyone including yourself. She may also be carrying around some shame and that is isolating as well.

Passion is a touchy subject because I believe passion wears itself out and is replaced by a more abiding love. If you continually want passion in your life you may find yourself going through a number of wives. There may be some things you can do to help the relationship along. Things like giving an erotic back rub. Setting up romantic evenings where you go on a date. Bringing home a single rose.

I know that after my bipolar attack I didn't feel worth being loved. I didn't feel pretty. I felt worn out. It took a long time for me to want to be romantic again, but it did come back.

Good luck.
