New here.

Hello! I was recently diagnosed with bipolar disorder by a primary doctor in a mental health facility. I am currently taking 5mg of Abilify and 30mg of Remeron. Today I am going to see a NP to possibly change my medicine or add something in for anxiety. I will keep this thread updated on what happens. I'm nervous about if the NP is going to change my medication or not. Not to mention that my IBS is acting up, too.

I just thought I would introduce myself formally.

Now, I do have one question, is there any drug that can be used as monotherapy for bipolar disorder? I don't like being on so many medications, lol.

Hello and welcome to the bipolar forum and the bipolar family :)
The medication changes sound good.  I am glad nothing was added as this is your introduction into bipolar medication and you never know, they may have got lucky and nailed this one.
Honest and will are going to be your best friends and although this is something you will manage for life it is not something that you have to manage everyday.... just be mindful of it and live your life.

The appointment went okay. She lowered my Abilify to 2mg and upped my Remeron to 45mg. Let's see what happens from here on out.
