Besides being one of the calmest and smartest people on here you are genuinely nice, thank you. Could have had a pet test back in the earlly nineties when first coming out but it was during the time my gp took me off my meds and I missed it saying why bother. That gp had an ego and had personally pulled strings to get it for me...so haven't asked again...and it is very expensive here.
Edema test as soon as I set it up. My pdoc usually agrees that certain psychotics can cause the swelling, not this time. Gdoc/internest, is cautious, very much so but it costs me an arm and a leg.
I am scared. So scared I had a pity party and hubby cuddled me until I went to sleep. Now wide awake after midnight and can't find glasses to do some much needed Bible study to calm down.
It's like this. Five years ago, didn't have pdoc. Had lousy pharmicists and my gp was too much involved with our family, he loved us all and lost sight of do no harm. I had been sick for over a year in constant pain, tummy sick as well. I think I took about thirteen pills a day. Cholesteral, bp, pain meds, bladder and kidney and a bunch of others. When I came home from a ten day trip, I was so very sick. My husband took me to his office and he decided the best way to find out the culprit if drug or physical was to remove me off of everything.
That was when I was a good little patient, questioned nothing and went into detox mode, it was hell and at the end it was a friends pharmicist brother who said it was the particular cholesteral med and now the detox was harming my life...took ultram, ambien for sleep, all too tough to go cold turkey. I went into the hospital for over a week and that started my journey with pdocs.
I'm a three percenter, if you can get weird stuff, I get it. Luckily my gp/internest and pdoc and pharmacy all know this.
Just needed a space to rant and I really appreciate your knowledge, calmnest and general care for us not in recovery types.
Thanks, ILADVOCATE,

The doctors did the right thing to follow up. Of course all of these tests are unpleasent but they all have proven benefits so best to get them. Some of these tests are age specific and some make sense as to their directives. I was told I had to get an EEG that would be seizure inducing (that is not standard btw) to test for epilepsy and it was ruled negative. That is unplesaent but would I rather have taken unneccessary medications? They were correct. That's just an example. Doctors have payment issues and rarely will authorize unneccesary tests. They agree a PET scan would be of interest for me but coverage is lacking. Its taking me some work to push to get one. What they find could help you. Some of the answers are for other forums but a colonoscopy tests for polyps that could develop into cancer if not noted as is standard follow up. If they are found and removed they are not of concern though.
Excedrin is not good because it contains caffeine. I would not take that. Tylenol generally doesn't interact but ask your psychiatrist what pain reliever is safe for you to take. What they noted is of concern and if it is not a medication interaction they want to know what's going on and the earlier anything is found the more treatable it is. They sound responsible and as if you are in good hands.
