PRACTICAL MEDICATION TIPS

I was wondering if anyone had a useful tip in regard to medications?

A good tip I got from my psychiatrist was to set 2 permanent alarms (am & pm) on my cellphone.

I also carry around spare doses of medications in my briefcase, also in my car (best in an airproof small container (pharmacies have them).

Great idea with the alarm on the cellphone!

I struggle with remembering whether or not I've even taken my meds as my memory can be so poor, so then I risk overdosing if I take them again.  Now I put the days meds in a small tin in the morning (if I remember) so then I know if I've taken them or not.

what i do is take my meds first thing in the morning befor i do anything else. i only take mine once a day though. that sound like a good idea setting an alarm on your cell phone. but once you make a routine about it it gets easier, like with breakfast or any other meal. take them before you even start to eat and make it a routine. if you take them twice a day make it first thing in the morning before you do anything else or with breakfast and the second with dinner or right before bed whenever you usually take them. but have some sort of event like waking up, or dinner , or bedtime. i have a pill box with the days of the week so i know if i took them or not. they have pill boxes with am and pm and even noon so just pick one that's right for you.

Well I always remember to take mine just because I've learned from where I've been forced into being without my meds that I'm going to be even worse than I was before I started taking it if I quit and I'm scared of that and that in itself reminds me to take it even with my memory being so bad I sometimes forget about things out of my field of vision immediately.  And even before I learned that I was scared and didn't want to become the way I was again before I took them.  To be safe I take my meds everywhere I go in my pocket in case I get tied up somewhere so I won't be late taking the dose.
