I too have gone off my meds because I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. I felt good and believed that I was better, but I suddenly realized that I became worse than before. I spoke with my pdoc. Once I was stable again, the doc was agreeable to making modifications to my meds. I feel in more control of my recovery. PLEASE talk to your professional. The body will naturally respond to the absence of what it is accustomed to. Physical reactions can be very harmful and should be taken very seriously.
Every one is different. I dont know about zoloft as I have never taken it. I do know about Zyprexa. I am being truthful when I say that everytime I have quit taking it that the only withdrawl I have ever had is that I went back to being bi polar.
Therese spoke correctly You really should be under a docs spuervison to wean off your meds.
Do you mind if I ask why your daughter wants to stop her meds?

This is very dangerous, she could have a 'rebound' ie. original symptoms only much worse. She must talk to her Doctor + this should only be done under doctors advice.
I came off zyprexa 5mg, sooooooooooo slowly. I used the 2.5 pill and reduced by a quarter of a pill every 10 days. sometimes I had 'rebound effect' and had to go back up to the previous dosage for another 4 weeks then try again. In the end I got off it. Maybe it is not the same for everyone, but it was the only way i could do it.
